Daily UI: Week 1

On Monday I decided to take the #DailyUI Challenge. I may end up cherry-picking or bending the rules of some of these daily challenges based on my level of interest in the material. (For example, Day 4 was Calculator, I wasn’t really feeling that so it got skipped.) For the most part I’m going to try to adhere to the challenge and maybe incorporate some of my other designs into it all.

#DailyUI Day 1: Sign Up

For the sign-up screen I ended up recycling a logo I did, but never really completed for the weekly Logo Battle #122: Robynwood. I kept with a similar brief for this DailyUI challenge. Robynwood is a fictitious skate gear company aimed at women. I figured this app could serve as a marketplace or way to manage your sneaker/board collection. Anyway here is the logo from the Robynwood battle.

And while we’re at it here is the logo I did for the r/LogoDesign Logo Battle #121. The brief was to create a logo for a plant store specializing in cacti. Similar to the Robynwood logo I never actually got it to a point I was fully satisfied with.

#DailyUI Day 2: Checkout

Back to the DailyUI challenges, Day 2 had me creating a checkout screen. Based on what I saw from other entries most people focused on the credit card collection aspect. I was mostly interested in designed a cart, but I ended up creating a shared UI for both. For this one I continued with the Robynwood branded app.

#DailyUI Day 3: Landing Page

Day 3 had me creating a landing page. I had a illustration leftover that I had been sketching the day before so I decided to incorporate that into my landing page. It actually helped me create a theme for the page and company Tourista, which would be a for tourists I suppose.

Here’s the illustration I had been working on one night.

I didn’t have nearly as much time to complete this challenge as I would have liked, but generally this is how I imagine the Robynwood App Icon would appear. Similar to the original logo I had created as well.

I hope to continue these challenges more into the future even if they aren’t as consistent as 1 a day 5 days a week.
