2021 Web Updates

Quick post about some updates I’ve made this time around. I definitely recommend checking out the initial post where I started work on this iteration of my portfolio website.

It’s been a little while so it felt appropriate to go for a small update at the very least. I was mostly trying to tighten some things up like switching to a 2-column layout for the portfolio to make it a little easier to scan the content.

The main change unfortunately doesn’t screenshot well, but I’ve added some perspective and scroll animations to clouds and a hillside while scrolling. Thinking I may have to move it exclusively to the blog as it is a bit intrusive, but pretty interesting to work on nonetheless.

With these updates I’ve decided to move away a bit from the pink/orange that was previously used on some pages and more towards just using blue although it still makes a few appearances. This is probably most noticeable with the reader-bar at the top denoting progress through the page. Since this site is more portfolio than blog it felt more distracting than anything. Could always bring it back in the future!
