A key project I was highly involved in while working at Tracker Management Systems. Work spanned many months and involved adapting components from an outdated proprietary language into a more modern tech stack. This also included a universal update to the design to modernize it as well.

Purpose
The original Tracker solution had come from a different era of app development and was due for an update to run on the web. This gave other affordances too like scrolling and mobile-access, elongated pages previous had to use pagination for a single section of content or tabs.
So with a goal to modernize the application we initially set out to adapt related sections of the previous application into a web format. There was often a balance being struck of wanting to preserve the workflows for existing customers who after 20+ years of using the same application had grown incredibly familiar with it.

Role
Due to the small team size working on this project involved wearing multiple hats across the product lifecycle including initial product designs, product ownership to help with sprint planning, and front-end development/review.
Additionally, I was responsible for marketing the overall company and this application specifically with a goal of recruiting smaller towing organizations that would make good candidates for beta users of New Tracker and help drive the roadmap going forward. Some promotion included the creation of this animation used at trade shows.

Overall Experience
Working on the beta of a new towing management app was incredibly valuable experience for me allowing me to view and participate in a wide array of the agile development process from on-sites with beta customers to review the product and upcoming designs, management experience with a small team of devs, to even working on the application itself.

Mobile App
In addition to the responsiveness of the web app, work also took place on a complementary iOS/Android app to be used by drivers of the tow trucks. Location data could then be used to view driver and incident locations live on a map.
