ICAN Schools Logo
I spent the summer of my Sophomore year at OSU interning at ICAN Schools, a charter school system based out of Maple Heights, OH. I was hired to help run social media and to do any graphics that were required while I was working there. I had several smaller projects, however my main task was to create a new logo for a school that was set to open in the fall.
The school mascot was an eagle so that gave me a good starting point. From their I looked at the school logos for other members of the Charter. Here are some of the early sketches I did for the logo. These were all done on a whiteboard and intended for faster iterations.

Once I started to get a feel for how the eagle logo would look I began sketching it out on paper along with trying to add banners or a shield to better match the parent company logo.

This was the final sketch that I began working off of. It took the beak from the more narrow design while the head maintains a neat circular shape that can easily be displayed as a square logo.

And here was the final logo I designed in Adobe Photoshop.
